I like all kinds of music.  I don't care if it's popular or anything.
classical instrumental type music, reggae and dancehall (jamaican/african), some rap, rock.  I'm not as into rock as I used to be though.
if it sounds good to me I like it!  Smiley

I listen to all genres too. But my favorites are def metal and hip-hop. The music that I linked here isn't rap music because rap music is limited to stereotypes, and is essentially all about making a quick buck. Hip-hop most notably underground has more of a message. I hate rap music, its so fake. In my opinion, rap music would be like religion and hip-hop would be freedom from rap music. LOL
rap is a vocal style used in hip hop, they are not two separate genres since only hip hop is the genre.  Sure there's completely shitty hip hop but thing like El-P and Eric B and Rakim are win.

There's no such thing as def metal either.  I guess you mean death metal and though it's pretty much universally agreed to suck there are a few bands that deserve at least a listen.  Death is not the worst band.

Me, I love to rock. \m/ But, that being said, I have somewhat of an eclectic taste. I listen to artists like Avenged Sevenfold, Chevelle, Disturbed, Seether, Dethklok (lol), Loreena McKennitt, Evanescence, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Tarja, Hurt, Korn, Sinch, and so on...
my...god....so...eclectic *dies from being so eclectic to go from Avenged Sevenfold to Evanescence to Korn that it is just too overbearing and and the orgasm of diversity makes my head explode*

That made me laugh sooooo hard!

I am into metal of all sorts, but currently really into folk/death metal such as Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Thyrfing, Battlelore, and others.
I also really like black metal, and saw Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth in April! It was really good.
Some of my other all-time favorites are Lamb of God, Slayer, Illdisposed, Panzerchrist, All Shall Perish, Arch Enemy, Meshuggah, Children of Bodom, Cattle Decapitation, Job For A Cowboy, GWAR, Satyricon, Black Flag, The Misfits.....
It goes on and on and on.
Oh, and I like ska too!
