First of all, w00t, it worked. Second, people had always told me that christianity was based on Pagan religions, but never how so. This video was interesting, and all of it can be crosschecked fairly easily. I mean, I could check this against any textbook of ancient religions.

Honestly, it astounds me that the worlds biggest religion, is based on ancient religions that any christian would tell you are heretical and false.

Also, Veridius is the one who asked to have this posted. Give all props to him

Oh snap! Well, that explains everything, dosen't it?

Pretty interesting I guess, I think the documentary made some really wild stretches to make it all hold together though.

Changing Anubis the Embalmer to "Anup the Baptizer" and drawing similarities between the words "Sun" and "Son", as in Son of God and sun of the Sky(nifty language similarity, but no root commonality as far as I know), really got me thinking this might be a bit of a stretch to say most of the stuff in here.

Lastly, I'd like to see part 2 of this because I want to see if the sources get cited. Most of the "Jesus is Myth" stuff I've read is dubius at best and I want to make sure if he's got something this incredible, it's backed up properly before I try leveling Christians and instead get my ass kicked.
10:41 PM 12th Jun
I can personally see such mythology and ideas beng changed over time in hisory so I can blieve the anubis = anup deal. But yes I too would like to see their sources.

This is fabricated bullshit. "Horus has risen" my ass. Horizon comes from the greek "orizein", wich means "to limit". Sunset <-> Seth made me actually laugh.
Krishna was not cruzified but accidentally shot with an arrow by a hunter.
Dionysos was not cruzified, but torn apart by Titans on command of Zeus' jealous wife Hera (in fact there are several conflicting myths, but no cruzifictions as far as I know). There are loads of stuff throughout this "documentary" that has been simply made up. Spend just 10 minutes on google and see for yourselves. You do not need lies to attack religion, there are enough intellectually honest arguments.
07:51 PM 13th Jun
I know we don't need lies, it's easy enough already. Also myself and probably everone else that has seen this had been waiting to see the video's sources. So.. you're an idiot.
07:55 PM 13th Jun
Also you're right about horizon however you stopped at theold french, orizen. Which was derived from old latin, which in turn was derived from old greek which back then was kuklos.
08:32 PM 13th Jun
Hmm...now Im getting anothr source saying orizein. Guess I'll have to look more into this myself.
08:57 PM 13th Jun
Well upo further researh the story of Dioysos being kile by titas is one of two versions of his life. Which even in that one he is recreated since the titans ate everything but the heart. So he's known as the twice-born.
09:08 PM 13th Jun
Alright, more searching has turne up that there are beliefs with Krishna that the arrow shot him to a tree and others saying he was nailed to the tree by his murderer.

In the bible jesus was also referred to before as being nailed/hung to a tree
06:10 AM 14th Jun
Hmm... yeah though the horizon/sunris thing is a load as far as I can tell. Though seein how close the greeks/egyptions were I don't think it's a far stretch.
01:17 PM 14th Jun
There may be similarities in all those myths. But the documentary is trying to overemphazise them by wordplay and half-truth.
Consider the following humble interpretation:
Jesus was in fact a real person and one of the many preachers who were active in that time. After his death (maybe long after) some of his followers decided that he is to be considered a god. Therefore they gave him all those godly attributes (strange birth, stars, healingpowers...) in their writings. So it might be a bit too fast to claim that he was a complete myth because he was given all those mythical attributes. Roman emperors were given the title "Son of god" (no not SUN), as were the egyptian kings. That doesn't mean they weren't real people.

And because I am not only an idiot but a know-it-all asshole too:
Orizein or modern greek όριο (Orio) means limit. The modern greek word for horizon is still ορίζον;τας (orizontas). Horus on the other hand is egyptian (d'uh!) - a language very different from ancient greek - and means "Far One" (Horus being the sky-god).
08:54 PM 14th Jun
Oh well. Too bad though, seeing as how this would have killed christianity as a viable religion.

I'd still like to see a rundown of that list. The moses ones too. If even one story, that can be dated before 200BC at the latest, can be found to be like jesus's or moses story, than christianity falls apart.

How about the astrological bits?
01:01 AM 15th Jun
I like the other parts of the documentary just as much as this part. I knew a lot of the stuff about 9/11 and the Federal Reserve beforehand, but I enjoy this newer presentation of the information.
05:55 AM 15th Jun
This video is profoundly apocryphal.
Christianity is a steaming pile of lies, so there's no need to just make stuff up about it.
12:57 PM 15th Jun
What about the fed and 9/11?

Rate this video down. It's total conspiracy theory garbage that does /not/ hold up under scrutiny. It's fun to poke holes in religion, but let's do it with some class and honor, not wordplays on the English language.
09:33 PM 28th Jun
I agree, this movie is pretty much total bull. But I see there seems to have been a change to it, so I will have to watch the whole.... 2... hours..... MERDE!

-link- of this information will not be widely available, especially on the net, as it is from ancient documents.

first of all,

...the Dec 25 issue is of no relevance to us--nowhere does the New Testament associate this date with Jesus' birth at all." This is something the later church did, wherever they got the idea from -- not the apostolic church, and if there was any borrowing at all, everyone did it, for Dec. 25th was "universally distinguished by sacred festivities" [ Cum.MM, 196] being that it was (at the time) the winter solstice.

Horus- Horus was NOT born of a virgin at all. Indeed, one ancient Egyptian relief depicts this conception by showing his mother Isis in a falcon form, hovering over an erect phallus of a dead and prone Osiris in the Underworld; The one reference I have found to a birth of Horus has him born on the 31st day of the Egyptian month of Khoiak -- the mythers have a one in 365 chance that this matches Dec. 25th; did not walk on water; I can find no references to Horus EVER dying, until he later becomes "merged" with Re the Sun god, after which he 'dies' and is 'reborn' every single day as the sun rises. And even in this 'death', there is no reference to a tomb anywhere.

Attis- not crucified; was not born of a virgin; committed suicide; there was no star

Krishna- not born on Dec 25th, actually born on July 19th 3228 B.C.E; was not born of a virgin, was actually the 8th son born to princess Devaki; was not crucified, died under a tree after a hunter mistook his foot to be an animal's; was never resurrected.

Dionysus- name was mispelled in video; was not born on dec 25th; was not crucified; was never resurrected.

Mithra- Mithra was not born of a virgin in a cave; he was born out of solid rock; nearly all Roman Mithraic evidence, dates at least a century after the time of the New Testament. It is too late to say that any "borrowing" was done by the Christian church -- if there was any, it was the other way around; but there probably was not.; was not a travelor nor teacher; did not have 12 deciples; there is no documented death of mithra, therefore there is no facts behind the claim of him being dead for 3 days and then rising again.

Feel free to research all of this yourself..

MANNAGUY REVIEWS: ZEITGEIST

First off: I care a lot about the issues raised in the film. So a big for that.
As a documentary, I found it irritating and goading. It didnā??t leave me enough time to digest after those big main courses were served. The narratorā??s voice sounded too young

hmmm...very sorry for the lack of formatting...it looked OK in MSW.

Skrew Part 1. I personally think parts 2 and 3 are the most important because they seem to be repeating to this day, and we seem to have people in the USA who ACTUALLY still, after thousands of years of history, believe that they are really fighting for their country, whereas really, it's for more money in the pockets of the rich and powerful. That is why history is important, so that we learn from our mistakes. But I mean, the USA educational system is dumbing down for a reason right?
09:46 PM 20th Feb
This blew my mind. Epic.
09:48 PM 20th Feb
...epicly wrong maybe...

Valid or not it was certainly interesting and possibly enlightening. It is clear to me that not only is religion flawed and broken, so is the American government. This video connects those ideas in a compelling way. It may not contain all the answers but it makes interesting points. I'm certainly glad I watched it.

I don't know what to think.
